Rework Team Grow Mustaches, Donations, Awareness for Movember

Dec 3, 2018

With the success of last year's event, the team at Rework made a decision to take part in Movember again! According to movember.com, Movember is an annual event involving the growing of mustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's suicide. Our team grew hair, raised awareness for men's health issues, and brought in over $18,000 for research!

This year's team included John Linehan, our Marketing Director; Dan Sherman, our Decommissioning lead; Mark Knepper, our Principal; Kevin Fleming, from our Business Development team; Dave Karnes, our Business Development Director.

Our team started with a goal of $1,500. After we reached that in a few days, the goal was moved to $5,000. We hit that in 2 weeks. Instead of changing the goal post, we decided to leave the goal and focus on bringing in support. With the final hours of the event counting down, we had ended up bringing in $18,716 in support for the Movember foundation. Further, our own Mark Knepper had the highest number of donors for the event, with 60 different individuals contributing to his page. Great job, Mark!

A final push from our friends at GOJO, the inventors of Purell products, pushed us over the top by matching donations for the GivingTuesday campaign. Thank you everyone who helped us reach and surpass our goal for the month. Without you, none of this support would have been possible. Thank you!

Now I mustache you a question: Can you take a few moments to learn about prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health?
